Our Summer’s day of 2 months gives you plenty of time to explore the magnificent landscapes around town. Hikers can choose between the more easily accessible coastal range and the challenging Lyngen Alps. Canoeing on tranquil forest rivers, wild bike rides down hillsides, kayaking on blank fjords or on the open sea, fishing trips late at night;  the light makes us lively

and energetic.

We also recommend taking a ferry trip to the islands north-west of Tromsø to see the fantastic island landscape and rich birdlife. Playing golf in the Midnight Sun on our own 18-hole golf course is in itself a distinctive hole-in-one.

Our mild, snow-rich winter climate is perfect for outside activities. From the centre of Tromsø city, it is only a few hundred metres to the nearest cross-country skiing trails, while the city’s alpine

slopes are also close by. The beautiful mountain areas in close proximity are perfect for ski trips of any length in the glimmering white and blue landscape. Skiing in the fresh, loose snow in Lyngen, on the other hand, is best left to the most experienced skiers. Rides in reindeer-driven sleighs,

dog sledding, ice fishing and snow scooter trips followed by a traditional Saami meal in a lavoo (Saami tent) provide life-long memories.
